The role:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner and to operate equipment and test all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interprets and coordinate pre-work with regards to repairs planned and predictive maintenance
Accesses any area safety to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment
Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment
Maintains a clean and safe worksite
Ensure the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coordinates activities associated with troubleshooting and repairing maintenance equipment
Perform hands on maintenance support during breakdowns and shutdowns
Perform standby duties and training of personnel, when required<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recognised Electrical Trade Test Certificate
Internal Candidates<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grade 12 with Math (Not Literacy) & Science, minimum E symbol with relevant two N2 Trade related subjects as per MQA guideline or N2 with four relevant trade related subjects as per MQA guideline
External Candidates<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grade 12 with Math (Not Literacy) & Science, minimum E symbol with four N2 relevant trade related subjects as per MQA guideline
Have sound knowledge of MHSA, safety systems and a high regard for safety, regulations and standards.
Proven excellent safety record.
Display good understanding of equipment & tools and uses thereof.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to speak, read and write in English
Be able to cope effectively with pressure in a production environment, be innovative and a self-starter<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be able to work in a team
Be able to identify faults and repair defects without supervision<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A minimum of 2 Years\u2019 experience as a qualified Electrician in a Maintenance environment
Experience on HT & Cables
Operation of Medium Voltage Switchgear and Distribution Networks Certificate
Experience in maintenance and fault finding on medium voltage switchgear and HT reticulation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
