1. TEMPORAL EMPLOYMENT occasion
Online operations are invited from suitably good campaigners for temporary positions as Examination sidekicks( EAs) in the Nov/ Dec 2023 National Senior Certificate( NSC) and May/ June 2024 Senior Certificate( SC) Examinations at Marking Centres, landing Centres and Head Office Examination Depot.
A Link for the Online operation Form is attached together with guidelines on
how to complete and submit online as Annexure. aspirants are needed to precisely read all instructions contained in this form before filling in the online form.
2. DESCRIPTION OF AN EXAMINATION ASSISTANT
An Examination Assistant is a person who works for the Department of Education on a temporary capacity at Marking Centres, landing Centres and Head Office Depot where examination affiliated work is performed.
3. CRITERIA FOR EMPLOYMENT AS AN EXAMINATION ADJUNCT
Persons eligible to be employed as Examination sidekicks will be Second Year Full- time scholars at Tertiary Institutions including TVET sodalities and must have passed Maths at position 3 or Maths knowledge at position 4 and over.
Unemployed graduates in possession of university degree or parchment may apply
and are exempted from Maths or Maths knowledge as a demand.
Unemployed youth( holding a Matric Certificate) passed in 2021 and below and must have passed Maths at position 3 or Maths knowledge at position 4 and over.
Aspirants must be South African citizens and in possession of a green bar- enciphered identity document/ smart card.
Aspirants must be between 18 – 35 times of age.
THE FOLLOWING MUST BE NOTED
• aspirants mustn’t be in any form of employment for remuneration at the
time of applying, including paycheck entered when in a learnership program or as an intern. If you be to be employed at the time of the inception of the examination duties, kindly inform the Chief Directorate Examinations and Assessment in jotting, so that you aren’t considered for this temporary job.
• An aspirant mustn’t be an preceptor or AET speaker/ instructor.
• Aspirants mustn’t have worked as Examination sidekicks in 2019 to 2021.
• aspirants must be willing to perform reasonable homemade tasks requested of them, similar as carrying boxes lockers and tidying working areas,etc.
• aspirants must elect only one marking centre.
• Aspirants must have completed their examinations at tertiary institutions before the period of employment as an Examination Assistant commences.
• All the aspirants will apply online using the link and clear guidelines handed.
• aspirants are anticipated to read precisely all the instructions given and follow also until the operation forms has been submitted.
• All aspirants must make sure that all certified PDF clones of the applicable
documents demanded are available and ready as they must be uploaded into the
online system.
• Completed operation must be submitted online with pukka documents attached.
instrument must be done at SAPS only.
• Please insure that the handed contact figures and emails are correct and up to date. The Department shall not take responsibility for the aspirants attainability if the contact figures and dispatch address handed are incorrect and or have latterly changed or whatsoever.
• Fraudulent information supplied on operation form will lead to the aspirant being disqualified.
4. APPOINTMENT PROCESS
. aspirants who meet the conditions set out in the announcement will be shortlisted.
. Shortlisted aspirants will be invited to suffer an online faculty Test in a specified date and time. Test will be administered online and will be opened and closed for a specific jotting period only.
Shortlisted campaigners who’ll share in the Online faculty Tests shall be
telephonically communicated SMSs Dispatch will be transferred through the cell phone figures and dispatch handed. Please insure that the correct cell phone figures and emails are handed. The Department won’t be liable not accommodate nuisances caused by the loss of cell phone or change of the phone figures or dispatch or any other cause.
Only successful aspirants will be communicated and informed of final employment.
• Examination sidekicks employed at the Grade 12 NSC/ SC; Marking Centres
will be handed with morning and autumn tea, lunch, and supper only. No breakfast will be handed.
• Working hours will be from 08h00 to 20h00 daily, from Monday to Sunday,
including public leaves, unless the inflow of work dictates else.
• Payment is grounded on the hourly tariff as set out in the Personnel Administration
Measures( PAM) document as amended.
• No overtime will be paid to Examination sidekicks.
• No leave will be granted to any Examination Adjunct during the course of the working session.
• No transport will be handed for Examination sidekicks to and from their
Marking Centres.
• Examination sidekicks are to give their own black pens, lead pencils, erasers, calculators, etc when they arrive at the Marking Centre workstation.
• Examination sidekicks must be suitable to work under pressure and must be
physically fit.
• Examination sidekicks who were involved in irregularities won’t be appointed.
during the2023/24 marking cycle.
7. ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
• aspirants will apply online.
• aspirants are needed to elect one Marking Centre per operation form as anticipated and the system is programmed like that.
• No operations will be hand submitted/ courier/ or posted to the quarter services
or head office. All processes will be done through the online system.
• CLOSING DATE FRIDAY 30 JUNE 2023 AT 16H00.
• A faculty Test will be written by shortlisted campaigners only on the date to be communicated specifically to the shortlisted campaigners.
• No sharing of faculty test link by shortlisted campaigners to unqualified campaigners.
• Successful aspirants must bring a Completed bank form when they report for duty at the Marking Centre. The form will be posted to aspirants before the
reporting date. Failure to do so may delay the appointment and remuneration process.
8. CONCLUSION
The work done by Examination sidekicks is extremely important for the delivery of accurate and believable results for the National Senior Certificate; Senior Certificate( SC) Examinations.
The Eastern Cape Department of Education has acquired a positive character in this regard and 2023 won’t be an exception.
